►   Acropolis

The Acropolis of Athens Greece: The Sacred Rock, the Acropolis in Athens, is the symbol of the entire Greece. It is also the most important ancient monuments in Europe. Surrounded by the modern town of Athens, the Parthenon still stands proudly, a reminder of the old aura of the city. One can see the Acropolis and its Parthenon from almost every part of Athens. The Acropolis Museum of Athens can be found in the picturesque area of Makriyianni Athens, on Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. It is located in the southeast corner of Acropolis rock. It was built to house the vast exhibits that were found during the excavations in the Acropolis and that were too many to fit in the former small Acropolis Museum. All the artifacts recovered from the excavation site date back to the Greek Bronze Age, the Roman and the Byzantine era. It is a four storied museum, where three levels have been used to showcase the historical artifacts and the remaining top floor houses the gift shop, cafeteria, restaurant and offices.


►   Monastiraki

Monastiraki is one of the most picturesque neighbourhoods of Athens with narrow streets and alleys crosssing each other occupied by numerous shops and street vendors. It is mostly famous for the flee market that takes place every Sunday displaying a huge quantity of products. If you continue your walkaround the area you will get to the open air market where you can find the best quality of food.In Monastriraki you will find a wide range of antique shops (books, vinyls, decorative objects, etc). You will find many cafes and taverns with great view to the ancient sites of Athens.

►   Plaka

Plaka is one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Athens, located right below the Acropolis hill. It is extremely beautiful and picturesque, distinguished for its authentic character and traditional layout. The largest part of Plaka consists of Neoclassical houses that date back to 19th century. However, the most beautiful part of Plaka is definitely the settlement of Anafiotika with pretty Cycladic houses leading to Acropolis.
